More, 1999 (dir. Mark Osborne)
Some New Order came up on shuffle while I was gawking at the iPhone coverage yesterday and I was reminded of More.
Without additional explanation, watch this Academy-nominated claymation short to examine Steve Jobs and Apple through a much, much darker lens.

Yes! The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing.
And they’re certainly not showing
any signs that they are slowing!
Apple product announcements later today. [Obviously new iPhone, maybe this thing, maybe new Mac minis, etc]
My off-the-wall $2 bet is that Apple reveals a tighter software connection with Facebook. Or: Facebook presents their latest apps today.
My gut feeling rests upon these things:
- The complete absence of a Facebook iPad app or iPad app-related announcements. (It seems strange to me that they had no launch-day offering despite holding a top 50 position on the App Store for two years straight now.)
- The iPhone app hasn’t been updated since January despite Facebook itself undergoing a total revamp and numerous policy changes since then.
- Strong Facebook support/integration offers the go-to weighted balance to Google’s influence these days.
UPDATE: Oh well.
Apple’s Jonathan Ive, aka The-Dude-Who’s-Designed-Everything-Since-The-Blue-iMac, explains that the hole cut out for the iMac’s screen provides just enough aluminum to make two keyboard frames. The more you know.
You never think about the workshop that their products are first forged in, but there it is.
Screencap from Gary Hustwit’s Objectified. Very neat documentary (visually, too).
